IPC distances itself from LGBTQ+ poster

The Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) has cautioned the public to disregard a poster depicting men with a rainbow flag that is associated with the LGBTQ+ community.

On Monday, the party issued a warning to those who reproduced its communication material.

“The IPC noted with concern that members of the public are defacing IPC communication posters by imposing and reproducing communication material depicting the logo of the party. We hereby issue a stern warning to those culprits to cease doing so with immediate effect,” stated the party.

The poster bearing the party’s logo is being circulated on social media with slogans reading “Your love, your choice, you vote your choice” to promote voter registration.

According to the IPC, the party neither produces nor endorses such a poster.

The party emphasised that it is based on the principle of the rule of law and would not issue material contrary to that.

Recently, IPC leader Panduleni Itula rubbished the accusations, stating that the party did not create the country’s constitution.

He also claimed that if there was any party that brought homosexuality into the country, it should be Swapo.

“IPC never created the constitution, if there is any party that brought homosexuality, that should be Swapo because it is the one that was at the discussion of the constitution with those countries where homosexuality comes from,” he said.

He mentioned that IPC was not present at the court that made the ruling on same-sex marriage.
