Hartief, a subsidiary of the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group, inked a substantive agreement with the Namibian Food and Allied Workers Union (NAFAU) which includes a 5.2 percent rise in basic pay.
The substantive agreement is valid from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024 and will apply to all Hartlief Continental Meat Products Bargaining Unit employees.
Apart from the 5.2 percent rise in basic pay, the parties agreed to an increases in housing and transportation allowances for all Bargaining Unit employees.
Speaking att the deal’s signing, Hartlief Managing Director (MD), Gunther Ling, expressed gratitude to all parties engaged in the negotiations.
“The session was positive and amicable, allowing us to conclude the agreement in a united fashion. This agreement demonstrates our dedication to our employees, without whom Hartlief would not be the committed, quality-delivering organisation that it is,” he said.
“All of our employees contribute to the O&L Group Vision, which is to be a catalyst for positive change, creating new realities and fulfilling dreams,” he added.
Meanwhile, NAFAU Windhoek Branch Organiser, Protasius Shitongeni also expressed gratitude for the parties’ collaborative efforts.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank the Hartlef Negotiation Committee for negotiating in good faith. Again, we thank all of stakeholders that contributed to the successful negotiation process. I am confident that we will maintain our good and open and engaging relationship,” Shitombeni said.
