Grindrod, a prominent logistics company based in Walvis Bay, has strengthened its commitment to education in the Erongo region in a gesture of community support.

The company hosted handover ceremonies at Da-Palm Senior Secondary School and Okombahe and Gaob Dr Justus Garoeb High School, donating crucial technological resources to improve the learning environment.

The donations included laptops, projectors, printers, boxes of paper, and projector screens, tools designed to enhance the educational experience for both students and teachers.

Johny Smith, the chief executive officer of Grindrod’s Rail division, reiterated the company’s dedication to initiatives that empower education.

“These resources will significantly enhance the learning environment and open up new opportunities for both students and teachers,” he said.

The donation is expected to modernise learning at the schools, providing access to tools that support academic growth and prepare students for a technology-driven world.

Grindrod’s involvement in these initiatives underscores its broader commitment to community development in the regions where it operates.

With a presence in over 20 countries and over a century of operational history, Grindrod has consistently demonstrated its dedication to making a difference.

Through strategic partnerships and investments, the company continues to fulfil its purpose of contributing to Africa’s progress.

Smith said that the collaboration between Grindrod and the Ministry of Education demonstrates how partnerships between the private sector and government can transform lives.

He added that Grindrod will continue to support education and other development initiatives as its impact on the communities it serves grows.

The ceremonies were more than just a formal handover; they also were celebrations of collaboration and gratitude.

Music and dancing enlivened the events as students expressed their appreciation for the much-needed resources.

The ceremonies saw the participation of dignitaries, education leaders, and community members.
