The Zambezi Regional Police grieves that they are ridden with cross border fugitives which makes it difficult to trace suspects.
In the latest incident a man allegedly assaulted his wife with an unknown object on the head. She later succombed to the injuries sustained. The incident took place at Menias Brian Libuto on Tuesday in the Singalamwe area. The Namibian Police is currently hunting for the suspect who crossed over into Zambia. The victim was taken to Sesheke Clinic at the Katima Mulilo state hospital and subsequently to Windhoek where she succumbed to her injuries.
The deceased, Gertrude Muzimisa, is a 49 -year-old Namibian female and her next of kin have been informed. The suspect, Kafulo Moven, a Namibian male age fled the country, suspectedly into Zambia.
According to Zambezi Regional Crime Investigation Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Kenneth Simbwaye,the suspect faces charges of murder read with domestic violence.
“We are still hunting for him but we believe he might have crossed the border already as this is a problem we face quite often when they go to the neighbouring country,” he said. Efforts to trace the suspect to date yielded unsuccessful.
