The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested a 46-year-old former cleaner at Oluno Military Base over allegations that she collected more than N$55 850 from job seekers by promising to secure cleaning jobs within the ministry of defence and veterans affairs.

According to ACC, Tayilombuele Claudia Hatutale was arrested in Oshakati on 27 August 2026 and faces seven counts relating to the alleged corrupt use of an office or position for gratification.

The alleged offences date back to 2015–2017, with the ACC saying the promised employment opportunities were never secured after the payments were made.

Hatutale appeared before the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court and was granted N$10 000 bail. The matter was postponed to 24 February 2027 for legal representations.

She remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.
