The Namibia Football Association (NFA) is hosting a FIFA delegation for an extensive three-day workshop aimed at fortifying the relationship between the NFA and FIFA. Commencing on Monday, January 8th, and culminating on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024, the workshop embarked on an in-depth exploration of the alliance between the NFA and FIFA, crucial for the advancement of football in the country.
During interactions with the media, NFA President Robert Shimoshiili emphasized the necessity of a governance induction workshop for the recently elected Executive Council. The objective was to bolster their understanding and expertise in the administration and management of football, underscoring the commitment to fostering responsible governance within the sport in Namibia.
Beyond its internal focus, the FIFA delegation actively engaged with various stakeholders within the NFA framework. This involved collaborative sessions with pivotal entities such as the Media, the Ministry of Sport, Youth, and National Service, the Namibia Sport Commission, and significant NFA sponsors. These interactions created an inclusive platform for stakeholders to express their insights, contributing to the discourse on football development in Namibia.
NFA President Shimoshiili emphasized the paramount importance of this gathering for both the NFA and the broader football landscape in Namibia. He articulated the significance of this collaborative effort as a pivotal step towards strengthening NFA’s governance structures within the sport.
“This gathering holds immense significance for the NFA and Namibia’s football ecosystem as a whole,” remarked NFA President Shimoshiili. He reiterated that the workshop symbolizes a collective endeavor aimed at reinforcing NFA’s governance principles and nurturing collaborative partnerships with vital stakeholders. This unified approach, he emphasized, is pivotal in steering Namibian football towards a more prosperous and sustainable future.
