The government has implemented the prohibition of the exportation of unprocessed crushed lithium ore. This follows a cabinet decision issued last week that endorsed the moratorium on the export of certain unprocessed critical minerals, such as cobalt, graphite, manganese and rare earth elements. Last year, late President Hage Geingob announced that Namibia would no longer export unprocessed critical raw minerals. The decision was taken to ensure value addition to Namibia’s critical raw materials.
