Old Mutual Namibia has partnered with Eureka Psychology for the 2026 Employee Wellness Indaba, which will take place in Windhoek on 20 and 21 May.
The event will be held under the theme “Well-being by Design: Building the Future Workplace”.
The Indaba aims to highlight the importance of integrating employee well-being into workplace systems and organisational culture.
Eureka Psychology founder Ceaseria Mutau said companies are being encouraged to move beyond basic wellness programmes and focus more on how workplace environments affect employee health, well-being and performance.
The event comes as more attention is being placed on workplace well-being and its role in productivity and economic growth.
Vice President Lucia Witbooi is expected to attend the event.
Old Mutual Namibia said the Indaba aligns with its 2026 organisational theme, “Wellness Powers Performance”.
Group chief operating officer Tassius Chigariro said employee well-being plays a direct role in business performance.
“When we invest in our people’s well-being, we strengthen not only our business, but every stakeholder we serve. Wellness is not a soft issue; it is fundamental to sustainable performance,” Chigariro said.
Executive assistant to the CEO Ina Kahupi said organisations should make employee well-being part of how they operate and lead.
“Organisations cannot afford to treat well-being as an add-on. It must be designed into how we work, lead, and measure success. When employees feel supported and valued in meaningful ways, it creates the conditions for sustained performance and long-term impact,” Kahupi said.
The Indaba will bring together leaders from government, business and the wellness sector, including policymakers, psychologists and practitioners.
The discussions will focus on practical ways to create healthier and more supportive workplaces.
Old Mutual Namibia said it will continue supporting well-being initiatives as part of its efforts to support employees, customers and communities.
