The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN)has announced the appointment of Bridget Ellen Dundee to its management team, effective 6 July 2026. Dundee will assume the position of manager of economics and market development.
Dundee will be responsible for leading economic and market research within the communications sector, informing evidence-based regulatory decisions, monitoring market competition, and driving initiatives that support sustainable growth, fair market access and improved outcomes for ICT consumers in Namibia.
An accomplished industrial economist with over ten years of professional experience, Dundee has built a distinguished career across academia, regulatory research and international development work.
She served for more than a decade as director of economics and sector research at the Namibian Competition Commission, where she led the development and enforcement of competition regulation in Namibia’s markets.
She joins CRAN from the United Nations World Food Programme, where she served as programme policy officer for markets and financial systems, managing donor partnerships and government engagements on social protection programmes.
Her academic credentials include a Master of Business Administration specialising in Management Strategy, Economics and Project Management, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Economics), both obtained from the University of Namibia, as well as a Bachelor of Economics Honours degree from the University of the Western Cape.
She also holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Namibia and successfully completed the Executive Management Development Programme at the University of Stellenbosch.
Speaking on her appointment, Dundee remarked, “It is a privilege to join CRAN at such an important time for Namibia’s communications sector. I look forward to applying my experience in economic research and regulation to support the Authority’s efforts in building a competitive and consumer-focused market.”
CRAN chief executive officer , Emilia Nghikembua, welcomed the appointment, noting, “Ms Dundee’s depth of experience in economic policy, market regulation and stakeholder engagement makes her a valuable addition to our leadership team. We look forward to her contribution towards strengthening economic research and market development at CRAN.”
