Netball Namibia hopes that planned stadiums will include netball courts

Erasmus Shalihaxwe Former Netball Namibia president Rebecca Goagoses hopes the planned construction of sports stadiums in all 14 regions will include netball courts. This follows the announcement by Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture, Sanet Steenkamp, that N$35 million has been allocated to build stadiums in each region during the 2025/26 financial year.  Steenkamp said the stadiums will meet Confederation of African Football (CAF) category two standards, and each will have 10,000 seats. GRN plans 10 000-seater stadiums across all regions

Erasmus Shalihaxwe The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture has set aside N$35 million to build sports stadiums in all 14 regions. Each stadium will have a seating capacity of 10,000. Minister Sanet Steenkamp made the announcement in Parliament on Tuesday while motivating the ministry’s N$1.2 billion budget for the 2025/2026 financial year. Final girls’ squad for COSAFA U17 announced

Erasmus Shalihaxwe Head coach Errol Damaseb has announced Namibia’s final squad for the upcoming COSAFA Under-17 Girls Championship.  The tournament will take place in Windhoek from 10 to 16 May at the Hage Geingob Stadium. Namibia is in Group A alongside Malawi and the Comoros.  The team will open the tournament against Malawi on Saturday at 15:00. Entrance to the stadium will be free for the public. Erasmus Shalihaxwe Team Namibia won nine medals at the Africa Aquatics Junior Championships at the Cairo Stadium in Egypt.  The four-day youth event concluded this past weekend. Namibian swimmers Oliver Durand and Lorenzo Esterhuizen reached the 400m Individual Medley finals. Durand, 18, broke the Africa Aquatics record with a time of 4:26.00. Esterhuizen, 16, finished sixth in the same race with a time of 4:48.68. The Namibia Aquatic Sports Federation said the event brought "cool winds and even cooler performances" from the team.
