Niël Terblanché Residents in a majority of towns in southern Namibia spent four hours last night without any electricity after the Namibia Power Corporation implemented stringent measures to collect an outstanding debt of over N$1 billion from defaulting customers. Rosa Nikanor, the Corporate Communications Officer of NamPower, confirmed that the disconnection schedule went ahead as planned. Two arrested on illicit drug charges

Two men were arrested in Walvis Bay on charges related to dealing in illicit drugs, over the weekend. According to the arrest report provided by the Public Relations Division of the Namibian Police, the first suspect, a 23-year-old man, was arrested in the Kuisebmond neighbourhood when he was found with 256 grams of cannabis.
