Martin Endjala The Electoral Commission of Namibia has announced that preparations are being made for the upcoming by-elections for the Moses //Garoëb Constituency in the Khomas Region scheduled for 6 January 2023. The Supplementary Registration of Voters (SRV) will start on 31 October until 2nd of November. The by-election is to fill the vacancy following the death of councillor Aili Venyona on 9 October. Staff Writer The Bank of Namibia’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) today raised the repo rate by 75 basis points from 5.50 percent to 6.25 percent for the fifth time this year. At the beginning of this year the country’s rate was 3.75 before it was raised by 25 basis points to 4%.
