Plane carrying Malawi’s Vice President missing

An aircraft carrying Malawi's Vice President, Saulos Klaus Chilima and nine others went missing on Monday. Chilima was aboard a Malawi Defence Force aircraft that left the capital, Lilongwe, at 09h17 local time. Colleen Zamba, President Lazarus Chakwera's secretary, made this announcement in an official statement. Zamba said the Malawi Defence Force aircraft failed to make a scheduled landing at Mzuzu International Airport in Lilongwe. "All efforts by aviation authorities to make contact with the aircraft since it went off the radar have failed thus far," he said. NFA proposes renaming of technical centre

The Namibia Football Association (NFA) has proposed renaming its technical centre to the late Elliot Paul Hiskia (known as Hampau), to the executive council.NFA general secretary Charles Siyauya says the renaming is honouring Hiskia's invaluable contribution to the sport and remembering his legacy.The late Hampau as many used to call him passed on in 2021. Residents of Swakopmund will see an increase in service-related tariffs for the current fiscal year.The chairperson of the town council’s management committee, Blasius Goraseb, presented the municipal budget for 2024/2025 at this week's ordinary council meeting, detailing a five percent increase in tariffs.Goraseb, however, reiterated that senior citizens residing in Swakopmund will be exempt from this increase.The council also approved a capital budget of N$111 766 000 and a balanced operational budget of N$578 282 000 for the 2024/2025 financial year.
