Business and community leader Tomas Indji passed away on Tuesday morning at the age of 44.
This was confirmed by former Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) chief executive officer, Tarah Shaanika.
“He has not been well for quite some time now. It is very sad,” Shaanika said.
Shaanika described Indji as a leader who was very passionate about business development and added that his death is a big loss for the country.
“He was not only a business leader, he was a community leader. He did a lot of work beyond his normal profession of banking and business. He was the kind of a guy that one would engage when one has good business ideas and I am sure that many business people found a lot of comfort discussing their ideas, concerns and challenges with Indji,” he said.
Three months ago Indji joined Standard Bank Namibia as head of business banking from FNB Namibia where he also served as the head of business banking.
At the time of his passing, Indji had more than 20 years of experience in the banking sector.
He is survived by his wife, children, mother and siblings.
