The Debmarine Premier League matches between African Stars FC and Young Africans FC, as well as UNAM FC and Bucks Buccaneers FC, originally scheduled for Tuesday, have been postponed due to training camp for the Brave Warriors.
Debmarine Premier League director, Mabos Vries confirmed on Monday that a new date for the matches will be announced to the affected teams and their supporters in due course.
The four teams did not play league games this past weekend as they were competing in the MTC Maris Cup semi-finals. African Stars defeated Bucks Buccaneers 2-1 to reach the final, where they will face Young Africans, who secured their spot by beating UNAM FC 3-1 on Saturday.
Despite not playing this weekend, African Stars remain at the top of the league standings with 21 points from 10 games, while Young Africans are second with 20 points from 10 games.
Blue Waters, Bucks Buccaneers, and Cuca Tops are currently in the relegation zone and risk being dropped from top-flight football if they fail to secure points in their upcoming matches.
Meanwhile, the Brave Warriors are in camp preparing for their 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Malawi on 20th March and Equatorial Guinea on 24th March.
Namibia is currently second in Group H with eight points, trailing group leaders Tunisia, who have 10 points. Liberia is third with seven points, followed by Malawi with six, Equatorial Guinea with three, and Sao Tome and Principe at the bottom with zero points.
The group winner will automatically qualify for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by Mexico, Canada, and the United States of America.
