Brave Gladiators vow victory for Nujoma against Eswatini

The head coach of the Brave Gladiators, Woody Jacobs said the team is drawing inspiration from the late founding president, Sam Nujoma, to win their match against Eswatini.

The Brave Gladiators will face Eswatini today at 13:00 for their 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifying campaign at the Somhlolo National Stadium.

The return leg is scheduled for 26 February at the Dobsonville Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa, at 15:00.

Jacobs said the camp spirit is good, and the girls are motivated to win the first leg and dedicate the victory to the late founding president.

“We are looking forward to the game, and we are looking forward to good results and qualifying for the next round of fixtures against Zambia. We want to do it in his honour, the late founding president of the Republic of Namibia, the late Dr Sam Nujoma. We want to win the game for him, and we will be banking on his spirit and his unwavering push for the liberation of Namibia, fighting for us and also carrying on in that mood,” said Jacobs.

He confirmed there are no major injuries, only minor concerns that the team doctors are addressing. 

He is confident all players will be available for selection.A total of 21 players have travelled with the team and they are Narises Gwenneth Joyce, Matheus Melissa, #Khuruses Sarafina Nonny, Kahiriri Utuzuvira, Nanamus Lydiana Ottonika, Katuta Iina Indapewa, Mulunga Lovisa Tuyakula, Rutjindo Julia Usuta, Andreas Aune Ndakomesho, Tjingaete Vijakura, Uueziua Beverly, Somses Anna-Ida Heidi, Daries            Shanice Blanche, Kanyama Hilma, Ngonda Memory, Lebang Nancy Biopelo, Hikuam      Milicent Felicity, Angula Asteria Onesmushi, Kooper Ivonne, Vliete Fiola and Blou Juliana.
