Eba Kandovazu THE Minister of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare, Doreen Sioka, could face a maximum 15 years custodial sentence, should the High Court convict her of contempt of court next March. The High Court could also fine her in the event that she is found guilty, or impose a suspended custodial sentence. The punishable offense is a discretion of the court. Eba Kandovazu NEARLY eight months after his arrest on rape charges, former Okahandja Constituency Councilor and National Council member, Steve Biko Booys, has yet again been remanded in custody, following the postponement of his bail appeal hearing. Booys today appeared in the Windhoek High Court before Judge Naomi Shivute. A hearing in which he is challenging the decision of an Okahandja Magistrate denying him bail will be heard on 22 October. Staff Writer THE majority of public entities complied with the dictates of the law in terms of submitting annual procurement plans and quarterly procurement reports to the Procurement Policy Unit (PPU), in the Ministry of Finance for the 2020/21 financial year. This has provided a level of transparency, while still problematic in many aspects,that has not been seen on the public procurement landscape.
