Day records 451 COVID-19 cases, two deaths

Eba Kandovazu THE Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) today recorded 451 coronavirus cases out of 2 042 results in the last 24 hours and two deaths. According to Minister Kalimbwe Shangula’s statement, 436 are new cases and 15 cases are reinfections. Of the overall cases, 219 are males and 217 are females. The youngest victim is aged one month and the oldest, 95 years older, Shangula says. The two deaths are recorded in Oshakati. One of the deceased was fully vaccinated with Sinopharm. Imalwa is expected to decide whether or not Boulter is to be tried in the High Court for the murder of Gerhard van Wyk (54). She will also decide what charges Boulter will be tried on. Eba Kandovazu A 26-year old woman, who earlier this week reportedly killed her newborn baby and removed the intestines will undergo psychiatric evaluation. Joolokeni Haipinge, who was employed as a stay-in nanny was arrested after her employer smell something bad around the house. Investigations found that the suspect killed the newborn baby girl, covered the body with plastic bags and hid him/her in her closet. Eba Kandovazu THE Windhoek High court this morning granted Ricardo Gustavo, one of the men implicated in Namibia’s biggest fishing corruption scandal infamously known as Fishrot, bail. Gustavo was granted bail of N$800 000, by Judge Herman Oosthuizen. He had initially suggested house arrest, saying that he would provide the Police with the necessary technology to track his movements. He also offered to wear a GPS bracelet, at his own expense.
