Namibia to receive a donation of 1m doses of sinopharm from China in tranches

Martin Endjala The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MOHSS) Executive Director (ED) Ben Nangombe, has confirmed in conversations with Windhoek Observer today that, the People’s Republic of China, has pledged to donate one million vaccine doses of sinopharm to Namibia, to mitigate the covid-19 pandemic. The donation is expected to be delivered in tranches during this year. Nangombe expressed appreciation for the continued demonstration of solidarity and support that the government of the People’s Republic of China has shown over the years, ‘’It is very commendable’’ he said. Nedbank robbers get away with 1.3 million

Eba Kandovazu THE three men who yesterday shot at a security van delivering money to the Nedbank branch at Katutura’s Black Chain stole N$1.3 million. This was confirmed by Nampol spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, who said that the suspects ambushed security guards out of nowhere when they arrived at the bank with the money. The suspects allegedly fired shots at the van just after one of the security guards offloaded two cases containing the money. Eba Kandovazu THE family of late Katuutire Kaura says they will lay their hero to rest this Saturday at his village in Ongongombonde, some 20 kilometers outside Okakarara. Kaura’s son Kaura Kaura said the family will give his father a dignified send off, although he was not accorded a State or heroes funeral.
