Martin Endjala The chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Natural Resources Tjekero Tweya, says the committee is not a talk shop, but means business when holding public hearings. He issued this warning at today’s public hearing on the Affirmative Reposition petition on land ownership by foreigners in Namibia. Today’s public hearing had engagements with representatives from the Namibia National Farmers Union (NNFU) and the Namibia Agricultural Union (NAU). Tujoromajo Kasuto The Namibia Deposit Guarantee Authority (NDGA) board chairperson Ebson Uanguta says in the annual report that the entity’s market value has increased to N$10 259 574 in 2021 from N$4 902 924 in 2020. He says the growth in the fund’s value was primarily attributable to N$5,079,150 in member institution premiums paid in July 2021 and a total annual interest income of N$278,496 in 2021. Staff Writer Drugs with a combined value of N$11.9 million were confiscated on Saturday at Trans Kalahari border post. 13 Namibian men and one Congolese national were arrested after they were found in possession of 314 parcels of cannabis weighing 357,320 grams, crack cocaine weighing 390 grams and Mandrax tablets.
