Auditor General Junias Kandjeke has reported that the Namibia Central Intelligence Service received a satisfactory audit opinion.
Kandjeke confirmed he audited the Namibia Central Intelligence Service’s financial statements for the year ending 31 March, as submitted by the service’s accounting officer.
“In my opinion, the financial statements of the Namibia Central Intelligence Service as of 31 March this year are prepared, in all material respects, in accordance with the State Finance Act of 1999 (Act 31 of 1991),” Kandjeke said.
He said that the audit followed the International Standards for Supreme Audit Institutions.
“My responsibilities under those standards are further described in the auditor’s responsibilities for the audit of the financial statement section of my report,” he added.
Kandjeke noted that his key audit matters are those he considers most significant in the current period’s audit. However, he found no key audit matters to report this year.
“In preparing the financial statements, management is responsible for assessing the entity’s ability to continue as a going concern, disclosing, as applicable, matters related to liquidating the entity or to cease operations, or has no realistic alternative but to do so. Those charged with governance are responsible for overseeing the entity’s financial reporting process,” he added.
