Former National Spokesperson of the Affirmative Repositioning (AR) Movement, Simon Amunime, said he is not interested in any fight with the movement’s leader, Job Amupanda.
This follows after Amupanda yesterday took to social media accusing Amunime of running a fake Facebook account bearing the AR name while he is no longer part of the movement.
“Dear activist and general members of the public. It has come to our attention that there is a boorish individual by the name of Simon Kanepolo Amunime who is suffering from dementia. He is the one running this fake AR Page and posting false frivolous information even though he publicly disowned and distanced himself from the Movement. We understand that it is part of his return package to South West,” Amupanda said.
AR Head of Legal Affairs Maitjituavi Kavetu, said Amunine still have access to the AR Facebook page and he has deleted all of the contents on the pages, after refusing to hand over the admin rights of the social media pages.
“We had to resort to starting new pages. We have lost a great part of the AR history which was on those social media pages. We thought out of goodwill, we should not fight him for the pages and move on, but he seems to be struggling to move on,” said Kavetu.
However, Amunime refuted the allegations, saying he no longer has access to the AR page after he was removed as a page admin.
“Yes, I was the editor of the page, but that was back then before they removed me from the movement and its affairs. I do not understand why “Induna” keeps fighting me when it is not necessary. I have nothing to do with them. He must leave me and my life alone,” Amunime responded.
Amunime said it was a serious shame for Amupanda to make those types of allegations that are baseless and meaningless.
“I have never created that page, my number is there because I was the editor. They were supposed to remove my number since they removed me I was not able to access the page,” he explained.
Amunime said he is used to Amupanda calling him all sorts of names to tarnish his image for no reason.
“I am used to his cyber of calling me sorts of name, but I should put it on record that that is a shame. Amupanda is no longer a young person. He must grow up and focus on his life, not me. I am done with them and have no other business with him and their movement, it is even a shame to elders to see us fighting for nothing,” Amunime said.
At the same time, Amunime pointed out that he is now focusing on his profession.
While reminding Amupanda of a court case he is having with the Deputy Minister of Finance and Public Enterprises, Maureen Hinda-Mbuende.
“This is the same conduct he has done to the Minister. I think he is good at concentrating on people’s lives instead of focusing on important things,” Amunime said. We need to respect each other and move on with our lives. I am a person with a profession. I am focusing on my profession, not on fights, he added.
