Eduvision Online Learning’s (EOL) initiative which aims to provide accessible online learning to all learners in Namibia through its Adopt-a-School project received a huge financial injection from the Gondwana Care Trust.

The trust in collaboration with Eduvision announced that a recent networking and fundraising evening, held on the 15th of June 2023 raised more than N$2 million for the initiative.

Eduvision, a Non-Profit Association Incorporated Section 21 company, was founded in 2017. The company has its roots in the Edugate Academy in Otjiwarongo.

It was started after one of the founding members, Frikkie Louw, paid a visit to Tsumkwe Secondary School.

Louw recognised the need for quality education for all Namibian students, and the company partnered with B2Gold and Paratus Namibia to connect schools to the internet which launched the Eduvision journey.

Through Eduvision, participating schools gain access to live lessons, interactive sessions, supplementary materials, and educational tools that enhance learners’ understanding of the curriculum and ultimately prepare them for exams.

According to Gondwana Collection spokesperson, Christiaan Jacobie, the revolutionary teaching and learning process has breathed new life into classrooms across the nation by empowering educators and learners alike.

“Since its inception, Eduvision has experienced significant growth and currently supports 19 schools,” he said.

Eduvision’s aim is to assist 50 schools by 2026 and to achieve this goal, the organisation has launched the Adopt-a-School Initiative, inviting organisations to take on the responsibility of supporting a school.

During the recent Networking and Fundraising Evening, Eduvision received pledges exceeding N$2 million in financial contributions, in addition to a vehicle generously sponsored by Indongo Toyota to facilitate transportation to the various project schools.

The event was attended by representatives from private and public organisations.

According to Jacobie, the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture expressed their deep gratitude and unwavering support for the Eduvision Adopt-a-School Initiative.

The Minister of Finance also emphasized the importance of providing quality education and equal access to Namibian learners in a brief speech.

“The success of the evening would not have been possible without the generous contributions from organisations such as Capricorn Foundation, Paratus Namibia, Indongo Toyota, Tyrepro (Namibia) (Pty) Ltd trading as Tyres 2000 Dunlop Zone, and Development Bank of Namibia, among others,” Jacobie said.

Eduvision and the Gondwana Care Trust extended their heartfelt appreciation to all donors, supporters, and volunteers who have made this significant milestone possible.

“The raised funds will play a pivotal role in furthering Eduvision’s mission and enabling more schools to benefit from this groundbreaking educational initiative,” he said.Caption:
