A 16-year old girl was yesterday allegedly raped after her cousin forcefully dragged her to his friends place in Windhoek’s Damara location.
Police say the rape occurred around 00h30 on Sunday after the victim’s two cousins and a male suspect forced her to the suspect’s house to sit and hang out. It is alleged that the suspect took the victim into the house under false pretences, threatened her with a knife and raped her.
According to Namibian Police (NamPol) Spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, the suspect has not yet been arrested and efforts in tracing him are underway as police investigation continues.
Another incident involves housebreaking with intent to rob, robbery with aggravating circumstances and attempted rape on Friday at Okahenge 2 location Ohengobe village, Ondobe Constituency.
It is alleged that three suspects used an unknown object to cut the corrugated iron sheet of a 29-year-old woman’s sleeping room, gained entry and grabbed the victim on the neck. The suspects, who were all armed with knives, threatened and poked her with a knife on the head, arms and demanded money.
They also scratched the victim with knives. The victim gave them the keys to the bar and they removed money from the safe box and Protex soaps. One suspect also removed victim’s underwear, and attempted to have sex with her but she resisted.
Properties valued at N$16 405-00 were taken including cash and two cellular phones (Samsung A21 and Hisense).Recovered items includes N$300 and 4 Protex soaps. One suspect was arrested while the other two are still at large. Police investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile on Friday at Oshilunga village, Omuntele area it is alleged that a victim aged 5,was raped by a 15-year-old Namibian male suspect. The victim was reportedly left at home with a sibling while their grandmother was out. The suspect came in the house were the victim was and found the victim sleeping in the sleeping room, undressed her and had sexual intercourse with the minor.
The victim was then taken to Onandjokwe State Hospital for medical attention and the suspect was arrested. Suspect and victim are not related but just neighbours. Police investigations continue.
