A FORMER hostel superintendent at a primary school in Otjiwarongo, Mervin Nguyapeua, was slapped with an effective 68 years in prison, for sodomising ten minor school boys, by High Court Judge. Alfred Siboleka.
The 53 year-old Nguyapeua, who worked as a cleaner and cook at the school raped the children on separate incidences between 2013 and 2016. He was tried on 32 rape charges and 27 alternative charges of committing a sexual act with a child under the age of 16. He was regarded as the “hostel father” by the children.
The victims and all minors, testified in-camera due to their age. According to court documents, he lured the children to his room and enticed them by showing them pornographic videos and pictures. He then stimulated the victims’ genitals and penetrated them anally.
The first rape incident involved a 14-year-old boy in 2013 and then proceeded to sexually violation of others in the years that followed. It is reported that two of the boys were aged 13, six of them at 14, and one was 15.
