The Goethe Institut in Namibia will this month be debuting three Namibian produced films as part of their second ever ‘Goethe Stage’ initiative.
The films were chosen from around 50 scripts submitted to the organisation and have been brought to life in partnership with the Namibia Film Commision (NFC) and Pegasus Entertainment Productions.
Expect to see the two narrative films, Mark Mushiva’s ‘Grootman’ and Denzel Eiseb’s ‘Open Cage’ as well as a documentary called ‘Currency of Scrap’ by Othillia Mungoba.
“As the custodian of promoting and supporting the development of the local film industry, we are excited for the realisation and debut of these new films,” Said the NFC in a statement on social media this week.
All three screenings are set to take place on Thursday 24 February.
The ‘Goethe Stage’ program was initiated in 2017 to help carry out the Institut’s mandate of promoting cultural engagement and fostering dialogue through the arts, and has since funded over 20 projects which includes exhibitions, plays and workshops, with this being their second group of films to be produced.
