A 44- year-old woman, identified as Mbilisu Johanna Kasiku, died after she was struck by lightning while taking a bath behind their sleeping room.
The incident took place last Friday around 04:30 at Kwaki village in the Mpungu constituency, Kavango West Region. Her remains were transported the Nankudu hospital mortuary, pending an autopsy and her next of kin have been informed.
Meanwhile in a separate incident, on the same day in Hanover, Ongwediva, the body of 35-year-old Iitula Job was found by a 12-year-old girl on her way to school hanging on a mango tree with a scarf around his neck. The girl then informed her mother who then informed the police. The deceased left a suicide note. No fault play is suspected and the deceased’s body was taken to Oshakati police mortuary for post- mortem.
In Khorixas a 61- year- old man who was driving under the influence of alcohol was arrested, after a Ford Ranger white pickup he was allegedly driving bumped an 11-year-old boy who was crossing the road.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was rush to Khorixas State Hospital where he was stabilised and transferred to Windhoek for further medical attention. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to injuries while on the way.
In the Tses village in the ǁKaras Region last Saturday between 03H00 and 04H00 in the morning at the railway near the Growerand location, a 24-year-old Namibian male died after he was run over by the train. It is alleged that the deceased was with his friends and left them to go and sleep. Police are still investigating the accident.
Meanwhile in Katima Mulilo, a case of culpable homicide was reported last Sunday in Linyanti Road, Masokotwani area, in the Zambezi Region. It is reported that Lilungwe Kasuka Michael, 37- years-old male pedestrian, a suspect psychiatric person, was hit by an unknown vehicle at an unknown time.
It is further alleged that the victim was bumped while crossing the road. The body was transported to Katima Mulilo State Hospital where he was declared dead by a medical doctor. Police investigation continues.
