NSX records N$512 million in trades during week

The Namibia Securities Exchange (NSX) recorded a total trading value of N$512.1 million during the week from 14 to 18 September 2026, with 8.61 million shares changing hands in 208 deals.

The overall market recorded a free-float market capitalisation of N$1.94 trillion during the reporting period.

Financial stocks accounted for the largest share of trading activity, with N$247.7 million worth of shares traded through 136 deals. The sector recorded a trading volume of 4.93 million shares.

Basic Materials was the second-largest contributor by value, with N$159.3 million traded through 15 deals, while Real Estate recorded N$74.9 million in value across 18 deals.

Consumer Staples recorded N$26.6 million in trading value from 21 deals, followed by Consumer Discretionary at N$2.6 million through 11 deals.

Telecommunications recorded N$289 289 in trading value from three deals, while Utilities recorded no trading activity during the week.

Local market activity amounted to N$38.8 million in value, with 1.30 million shares traded through 41 deals. Local market trading for the year to date stands at N$264.2 million from 13.11 million shares and 992 deals.

The NSX overall market has recorded N$6 billion in trading value so far this year, from 96.03 million shares and 3,654 deals.

Exchange Traded Products (ETPs) contributed a further N$536.8 million in year-to-date trading value from 2.78 million shares and 201 deals.

The Development Capital Board (DevX) recorded N$25.4 million in trading value from 717 696 shares and 50 deals.

Combined year-to-date activity across the overall market, ETPs and DevX reached N$6.56 billion in value, with 99.53 million shares traded through 3 905 deals.
