Telecom Namibia (TN) and the National Housing Enterprise (NHE) have partnered to develop smart housing, following an agreement signed on 28 January.
The partnership combines TN’s expertise in information technology and telecommunications with NHE’s experience in providing housing solutions.
It aims to create employment opportunities, drive economic growth, and improve the overall quality of life for Namibians.
“Telecom Namibia is thrilled to embark on this journey with NHE. This collaboration aligns perfectly with our vision of a digitally connected Namibia. Together, we can create innovative solutions that address the nation’s housing challenges while fostering vibrant, tech-enabled housing,” said the chief executive officer of TN, Stanley Shanapinda.
The chief executive officer of NHE, Gisbertus Mukulu, also commented on the partnership.
“We believe this partnership is a pivotal step towards realizing our goal of providing not just houses, but homes that are equipped with the latest technologies. By working closely with Telecom Namibia, we can create smart, connected living spaces that meet the evolving needs of our residents. NHE will continue to foster strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to add value to our products for the benefit of our clients,” Mukulu said.
In order to collaborate, the two organizations previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The MoU outlines a framework for collaboration on affordable housing solutions, digital services, ICT infrastructure and other key areas of cooperation.
The signing of the MoU marks a milestone in the nation’s journey towards digital transformation and sustainable development.
