FlyNamibia has announced the reinstatement of its weekday flights between Eros Airport in Windhoek and Lüderitz.

The latest development which was announced on Tuesday was made possible through a partnership with TotalEnergies EP.

According to André Compion, the airline’s Managing Director, the new flight route will operate Monday to Friday and is set to commence on 16 October 2024

“The reinstatement of the flight route will provide vital connectivity to the Lüderitz community and its surrounding economic activities,” he said.

Compion expressed gratitude for the partnership with TotalEnergies, which enables the airline to maintain and expand routes that are crucial to local economies, such as Lüderitz.

“This route is vital to the local community and economy, and our partnership with TotalEnergies allows us to continue providing essential services,” he said.

The reinstatement of the Eros-Lüderitz route is part of FlyNamibia’s broader strategy to enhance connectivity within Namibia and Southern Africa.

In addition to domestic routes connecting Windhoek with cities like Ondangwa, Katima Mulilo, and Oranjemund, FlyNamibia has been actively expanding its regional footprint.

Starting in April 2024, the airline introduced flights from Windhoek to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, and Maun, Botswana, tapping into key tourism and business destinations in the region.

FlyNamibia’s network also includes regional routes to Cape Town from Hosea Kutako International Airport and Walvis Bay, offering a triangular route that connects these destinations.

The company’s plans to add Luanda, Angola, to its service portfolio will further demonstrate its commitment to becoming a significant player in regional air travel.

With these strategic expansions, FlyNamibia is positioning itself as a vital link between Namibia and Southern Africa’s most prominent destinations, driving both tourism and business growth.

“The airline’s partnership with TotalEnergies ensures that routes critical to Namibia’s economic development, such as the Eros-Lüderitz service, remain accessible and reliable,” Compion said.

He added that FlyNamibia, the country’s premier airline, is committed to delivering high-quality service across its growing domestic and regional network.

Passengers who would like to fly between Lüderitz and Windhoek can book flights via FlyNamibia’s website, where a dedicated Lüderitz booking option is now available.

Tickets can also be purchased at the airline’s ticketing office located at the Lüderitz Waterfront or through preferred travel agents.
