The United Democratic Front (UDF) will launch its election manifesto during its congress in Otjiwarongo on 12 October.
Last week, the UDF’s spokesperson, Mabasen Narib told the Windhoek Observer that in the manifesto, the party’s leadership will unpack how the party intends to change the state of government and make service delivery the order of business.
“UDF presents itself as the next best alternative party to the voters. The manifesto will give a detailed strategic plan on how we intend to address the bread and butter issues of our people,” he said.
Narib added that the UDF has gone through a transformation phase and is now led by young, vibrant and dynamic leaders.
He said the party has been conducting door-to-door campaigns to deliberately engage the community and to hear their problems.
“UDF promises that those who will get a chance to represent the party will be robust debaters. Who will be tasked to primarily advocate for the people?” he said.
The UDF was established in 1989 by Justus ||Garoeb was its founding president and leader of the Damara council.
Along with the PDM, it is one of the parties that has been in parliament since Namibia’s independence.
The party currently holds two seats in the National Assembly. The seats are occupied by former president, Apius Auchab and former vice president, Dudu Murorua.
