The Erongo Regional Electricity Distributor (Erongo Red), will credit appropriate units of its customers, who purchased electricity between 1 July and 4 July.
This was announced in a statement issued on its social page recently.
This comes after the Electricity Control Board recently announced the cancellation of tariff increases for the next year.
The new tariffs were set to kick in from 1 July until 30 June 2025.
As of 5 July, Erongo Red will continue to charge its customers the 2023/24 tariffs.
The cancellation of the 2024/25 tariffs, comes after residents voiced their disappointment via an online petition and letters of grievances sent to the Mines and Energy Minister Tom Alweendo.
N$365 million was availed from the state coffers to cover the cost for all distributors.
