Von Trotha Street in Otjiwarongo is to be renamed Ohamakari street.
This is according to a objection notice by the Otjiwarongo municipality. The street was named after infamous German army military Lieutenant-General Lothar von Trotha.
The Ovaherero people have for year been calling for the renaming of the street. In 2022 it was proposed that the street be renamed after local business personality Theo Borstlap. This was objected to. The public has until…… to object to the new name.
