Information and Technology Deputy Minister, Emma Theofilus, appointed in March this year, has been shortlisted with 15 other young politicians for the One Young World Politician of the Year.
The One Young World Politician of the Year Award recognises five of the world’s most outstanding politicians between the ages of 18 – 35, who are using their positions to have a positive impact on young people in their communities and countries.
“Through their important work, these candidates highlight the benefit of including young people in politics. The shortlisted nominees are currently being reviewed by One Young World’s expert judging panel, who will decide the final five winners. The winners will be announced in mid-July and will be presented with this award at the One Young World 2021 Summit in Munich,” One Young World said.
According to the organization, the annual One Young World Summit convenes the brightest young talent from every country and sector, with the aim of accelerating social impact.
“Delegates from 190+ countries are counselled by influential political, business and humanitarian leaders such as Justin Trudeau, Paul Polman and Meghan Markle, amongst many other global figures. The One Young World Summit 2021 will take place in Munich, Germany from 23 to 26 April 2021.”
“At the end of the Summit, Delegates become One Young World Ambassadors. They return to their communities and organisations with the means and motivation to make a difference, accessing the global network of 12,000+ young leaders to accelerate existing initiatives or establish new ventures.
