The Confederation of African Football (CAF) unveiled the nominees for the much-anticipated CAF Awards 2023 in the men’s categories, building anticipation for the Awards Gala set to take place on December 11, 2023, in Marrakech, Morocco.
These selections were based on the performance of nominees between November 2022 and September 2023.
For the esteemed CAF African Player of the Year, a total of thirty exceptional players made the cut. The list includes renowned names such as Riyad Mahrez from Algeria, Mohamed Salah from Egypt, and Sadio Mane from Senegal, among others.
In addition to the top prize, categories such as CAF Interclub Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, CAF National Team of the Year, Club of the Year, and the newly introduced CAF African Goalkeeper of the Year have received notable attention. The goalkeeper category, for the first time, acknowledges the exceptional performances of shot stoppers, with ten outstanding players nominated for this novel award.
Shalulile has been nomined for the Player of the years and Interclub player of the year, while the Brave Warriors are nominated for the team of the year,
The final winners in each category will be determined through a voting process involving the CAF Technical Committee, media professionals, Head Coaches & Captains of Member Associations, and clubs involved in the group stages of the Interclub competitions.
