FlyNamibia, the country’s only private airline, has marked yet another milestone with the inauguration of a new air route, connecting the integral ports of Walvis Bay and Windhoek in Namibia to Cape Town, South Africa.
In an official statement, Andre Compion, the Managing Director of FlyNamibia, unveiled the airline’s innovative approach to establishing this route as a strategic link, thereby facilitating enriched travel options and contributing to regional growth and development.
“We are excited to introduce this new route, underscoring FlyNamibia’s commitment to expanding our network and enhancing travel options for our passengers,” Compion said.
The strategic schedule for this new route is set to operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. It will navigate travellers from Hosea Kutako International Airport (HKIA) to Cape Town, progressing to Walvis Bay, and eventually looping back to HKIA.
According to Compion, the new routing design is anticipated to offer optimal flexibility catering to the diverse needs of both leisure and business travellers, enabling them to immerse in the vibrant cultures and explore the picturesque landscapes and myriad economic opportunities prevalent in Windhoek, Walvis Bay, and Cape Town.
With its key location, Walvis Bay stands to gain significantly from this new venture, opening avenues for elevated tourism, bolstering trade, and fostering personal connections amongst the connected locations.
“We believe this route will serve the needs of our valued customers and also contribute to the growth and development of our country and the region,” Compion said.
This new route is not merely a connectivity enhancement; it is a gateway for travellers to delve into the myriad attractions and economic prospects present in Walvis Bay and the immediate environs.
FlyNamibia, currently operating domestic routes from Eros Airport in Windhoek to multiple destinations including Ondangwa, Katima Mulilo, Luderitz, and Oranjemund, and a regional route between HKIA and Cape Town International, is steadfast in its mission to extend its network.
According to Compion, the inclusion of Walvis Bay in its expanding framework is a testament to the airline’s vision to foster regional development and offer augmented travel options to its passengers.
