Following growing concerns expressed by some Namibia University of Science and Technology students who are unable to access their results due to invoices that were not submitted to the Namibia Student Financial Assistant Fund (NSFAF), the university claimed that it has rectified the issue and that results will be made available.
NUST spokesperson, John Haufiku could not confirm or deny that results were delayed.
He, however, confirmed that all senior NSFAF students, who passed and progressed to the current academic year already have access to view results and register for the second term.
“The accounts status of the funded senior students not in this category will be updated by the close of business today. These are the ones for reactivations and other special considerations. The new intakes whose names were on the list from NSFAF are also able to view results and register. However, any new intakes not listed, but who can produce final awards letters, are being dealt with as and when necessary,” explained Haufiku.
He said that the administration of the NSFAF is quite complex and requires a significant amount of manual intervention as you would have different types of scenarios and each one requiring a different approach and treatment.
In addition, this further places a strain on the already limited available manpower within the Division and so time is required to complete the process with the necessary oversight, Haufiku added.
Nevertheless, this category of students Haufiku said, is a critical revenue component and as a service to their stakeholders they are committed to doing their best to minimise the potential inconvenience to their students.
Furthermore, he urged students to remain patient while they work around the clock to ensure that all issues related to their concerns are ironed out effectively and “not to jump to conclusions” as this erodes the work that is already being done.
