The 43-year-old Ndafelai Nghilifilwa committed suicide by stabbing himself in the stomach and cutting his own throat with a traditional knife.
The incident occurred in full view of his wife, who is seven months pregnant, at Ononge Village in the Constituency of Nehale LyaMpingana of the Oshikoto Region.
Nghilifilwa killed himself in his bedroom.
It is alleged that the deceased told his 37-year-old wife that he was going to visit his mother in the morning.
Upon his return in the afternoon, he allegedly came back with a container of traditional brew, commonly known as Otombo and gave it to his wife.
The deceased then sent his children to go collect beans in their mahangu field.
Sometime after the kids left, the deceased allegedly called his wife into their sleeping room, where he went on killing himself with the traditional knife
It is alleged that early this month the deceased assaulted the wife after an argument at a cuca shop. During the argument he accused her of having sexual relations with young men, Police investigations revealed.
Nghilifilwa is survived by his wife and six children. The couple has been married for 13 years.
The deceased did not leave a suicide note, and his next of kin have already been informed.
