The Police have arrested a 45-year-old man for allegedly raping an 11-year-old female minor at Iindangungu village in Ondangwa, Oshana region.
The incident was confirmed by NAMPOL Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, who said that on 24 February 2023, at about 02:00, they arrested the suspect, who is a neighbour to the victim.
Allegations are that he entered the minor’s room while she was sleeping, went straight to the victim’s bed and raped the victim. It is alleged that the victim woke up and went to report to the parents and when the parents came into the room, they allegedly found the suspect deep asleep on the victim’s bed with his pants down, Police investigations are said to continue.
In another incident, on 25 February 2023, at about 1h:00 behind Havana private school in Havana location. It is alleged that Graham Theodore Brandt, 39 years’ Namibian male died, after he was tabbed with a homemade knife in the chest and left side of the body.
It is alleged that an argument and insults erupted between the accused and the suspect who are family members.
The suspect a Namibian adult male was arrested, the deceased next of kin were informed and Police investigations continue.
