Johanna Kapolo, the mother of the missing 20-year-old Namibian student, Faith Enkali, has expressed hope for the safe return of her son.

Enkali, who is a student at the Cape Town College of Fashion Design (CTCFD), was last seen leaving his student accommodation on Malleson Street in Mowbray in the early hours of Monday, 15 April. Reports indicate that he did not inform his housemates of his plans before his disappearance.

“I’m praying for my son Faith’s safe return. We hope for him to be found soon,” said Kapolo.

The Head of CTCFD, Gregg Maragelis, stated that the college found out about Enkali’s disappearance on Tuesday, 16 April.

“Faith’s mother contacted our admin on Tuesday to inform us that she had not heard from Faith and was inquiring if he had attended classes. I was immediately informed. In turn, the facilitators engaged with the students to inquire if anyone knew of Faith’s whereabouts or any other information.

It is my understanding that the class had last heard from Faith on Sunday afternoon. After ascertaining this, I contacted Faith’s mother with the information at hand. We have been in continuous contact,” said Maragelis.

He said Enkali is part of a small class in the college’s Foundation Fashion Design Program, and the accommodation he resides in is not affiliated with CTCFD.

“Faith is part of a small class in our Foundation Fashion Design Program that is facilitated for two hours in the afternoons outside of contact hours with Diploma and Advanced Diploma full-time students. A representative from the accommodation came to the college on Wednesday so we have been in contact with them,” he said.

Additionally, Maragelis said a detective contacted the college’s administration department on Wednesday, 17 April.

The Western Cape police have issued an appeal for public assistance in locating Enkali.

Anyone with information regarding Enkali’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Mowbray police or his mother, Johana Kapolo, at +264 811243951.
